Baby, baby, baby :)

Busy, busy week in the preschool classroom but maybe even busier in our household! Glad I have tomorrow off to catch my breath and get a few things done before a busy weekend. This past week was filled with more baby activities :)

1. I registered for a bunch of baby classes at our hospital. June is going to be a baby information month :)

2. Mini Bee's other set of grandparents (Mitch's parents) were in town and helped us spoil him more by buying a few outfits and goodies I picked out! So cute and so fun! Here are a few pictures of what we purchased...

Who can say no to a sock monkey onesie with matching cap? Not me.

A bumble bee swaddle blanket for our mini bee with matching cap of course.

A supposedly awesome teether. It seems to be in every baby magazine / article I read lately.
A Sun Hat for our Summer baby.

Hard to take a picture though so I tried another approach...
What a good sport. Hope our Mini Bee likes to model and take pictures as much as Mac :)

3. I have a few baby showers (for Mini Bee) penciled into my calendar. Yay! How exciting :)

4. And Finally....We did a bump photo shoot tonight. Mitch was a good sport and took the pictures tonight even after he worked an 8-5 job and then shot the Force game tonight. What a good hubby! Those will come within the next few days since he will have to put them together into the usual layout.

Such an exciting week for baby developments!!

Update.

Figured I am due to blog since it has been a while.... :)

No really big developments this past week but a few accomplishments have been made that are worth noting.

The crib AND changing table/dresser are put together and positioned in the room. I finally figured out the positioning for furniture so that everything fits and functions efficiently.

We built and installed the closet system that will help us use the closet more efficiently. Figured one bar going across the closet wasn't really efficient when baby's clothes will be maybe two feet long. Now we have lots of storage for cute outfits, hats (bc our baby will be accessorized and stylin), diapers and whatever else comes our way!

I am close to finishing up our registry. Still looking for a diaper bag I like and a hamper that matches. But think we have everything else picked out which is a task! There are so many options now-a-days and you only buy one of most things so you better make sure you like it! Things like this make me nervous.

I also have been taking the advice of everybody I talk to. Take naps! Now this has always been something I have tried to follow but now I feel like I really have permission to ;) Lots of these are taken, let me reassure you.

As for mini-bee: He is getting stronger by the week! His little brushes with my tummy have turned into big bumps! It is no longer hard to catch his movements. They seem to last longer and cover more area of my tummy. Guessing it is getting tighter in there for him even though my tummy keeps growing!

We are really due for another belly bump photo shoot. Hopefully this week we find time. Seems like our life is getting busy as the weather gets nicer. Yay for Spring!

Also, because every post needs a picture to make it more interesting, I will share what I took on Friday. I was cooking lunch (almost blog-worthy enough since I don't cook much) and this is what I saw below...

My very dedicated sous chef! :)
Always up for a taste test.

22 Weeks.

Well. It looks like my baby's size is a little more generalized as I am getting further into pregnancy. I have hit week 5 though!

For weeks 21-24 my baby is the size of a PAPAYA!

Never loved papayas so much :)

Our baby is now hearing voices outside of the womb and likes to listen to gentle music and my voice--of course :)  His little face is fully developed. He is starting to develop a sleep plan, sleeping 12-14 hrs a day. Hmm... Hope he gets that schedule figured out because I feel him every night that I am getting into bed at night.

Its so exciting to be in month 5 already and it seems like my belly grows by the week. This past month or so has been the best part of being pregnant. I finally have a bump that obviously shows I am pregnant rather than possibly chubby haha. I feel good almost all the time and have had ambition to complete projects! Only downfall is that I lose a lot of time in which I could be productive because I am constantly running to the bathroom. A 1 pounder on my bladder puts a lot of pressure. I can't imagine at 7-8 lbs! Very minor payment for a cute baby :)

Last night Mitch and I set up a big closet project in the nursery last night. It is so fun to walk into the nursery and see things getting set up and ready for our arrival!

Whew!

What a weekend! This girl was lucky enough to have her mom visit this weekend. We were sewing up a storm -- whipping our spare "dropping grounds" bedroom into a baby nursery.

First big move: My parents bought us a crib and dresser. Very beautiful and I love it! Thanks Mom and Dad. We are pretty lucky to have parents who help us out :)

Then, the spare furniture was moved out of the room to clear it for crib building. I of course, supervised since I shouldn't lift anything which was hard.

Mitch surprised us with building the crib while my mom and I were out picking up a few fabric things. Yay! Good job daddy :)

My mom and I went to work and made a bunch of cute burp cloths, a blanket, and all the crib bedding (minus the quilt). It turned out super cute and even better that its all personalized since we designed it. Made with lots of love! Pretty lucky to have a talented mom :)

Flannel Blanket:

Burp Cloths:

Our Nursery Theme: The Very Hungry Caterpillar (a childrens book by Eric Carle)
Here are the fabrics that we used:

Sorry for the picture tease but I want to do a big nursery reveal when its all complete. A few more pieces will need to be made and we need to hunt for some different fabric pieces.

P.S. Reality is slowly settling in more as we walk out of our bedroom and see a (very cute) baby crib! Crazy to think a baby will be in there a few months ahead. And what? March is almost at the end already? Nuts!

Our little boy is already pretty lucky to be surrounded by so many people who love him. He already is so anticipated and is it fun to slowly have things being bought/made for him!

We appreciate it all :)
Thanks mom for doing so much work this weekend! I love it all and it is so special! Mini Bee will love it :)

Success.

Today was one of those days.....
To get me through the rest of the week, I think I need to reflect on this motivational poster :)

Words Read: Feel It. Look it. Be it.
Cute models huh? Only one digs the tie. Can you tell which one? HAHA

And you know how I know I am lucky?

I have a unique one of a kind (definitely tight fitting) cover for my containers :)

Tomorrow WILL be Better :)

21 weeks.

21 Weeks Today!

Our BOY Mini Bee is a
Banana :)

They start measuring the baby from head to toe now rather than head to bottom so thats why he is suddenly 4 inches longer ;) And as of last Wednesday on our ultrasound day, our baby was 13 oz.
At 21 weeks, baby is starting to swallow amniotic fluid to practice swallowing and digesting. Now his taste buds work too so he can taste the different types of food I am eating too. Studies show that whatever food I expose him to now will make him more interested in those later. Guess he will LOVE oranges since that has been my latest food kick. A healthy one, how about that :)

BIG NEWS!!

Whew! Not sure this momma can handle anymore excitement after the past week we have had! Wednesday we had our ultrasound, which was the first time we really had a chance to see pictures of our baby. Soo exciting and AMAZING! We saw cute little feet and hands and of course Mini Bee was very active. I could feel Mini Bee kicking the whole time and we even have videos of baby moving around. I could have watched the whole day. Lucky for us, we did get to watch for 45 minutes! The best news ever was that our baby checked out very healthy! :)

Here is a picture of our ultrasound:

So cute right? Apparently very flexible too! Baby's arms were going crazy the whole time, moving all around...

We shared with the ultrasound tech that we did want to find out the gender but were going to celebrate together over the gender by having a baker color the inside of a cake whatever gender the card said. So she didn't tell us or show us any ultrasound pictures that would disclose the gender. Instead she secretly wrote the gender inside of our cards and sealed them. After the ultrasound we left with those cards that said the gender inside and a cd with pictures/videos of our precious baby. I could have busted with the excitement. Suddenly I felt so close to this baby inside of me when I could see the miracle that had grown inside.

FAST FORWARD............

Next night we go pick up our cake that was designed so cute. We had a hard time finding a baker that would bake a fresh cake for the next day but we lucked out with Quality Bakery. They offered to come in special and whip up this cake that told us such an important part of our future. I couldn't even hold myself together while we were picking up this cake. I realized how significant this little bundle of cake was!

The cake...

Mitch and I ate our supper super fast!! Then we shut our eyes and cut out a sliver together to open our eyes and find.....

BRIGHT BLUE CAKE!!!!

So emotional to find out what we could expect in a few months!

Finding out what we were having suddenly I felt so close to what I am caring for and also I was able to weed out a few names. It was weird, but some of the names we had picked out suddenly didn't seem to fit the baby I am carrying. I love laying in bed and feeling our baby kicking and knowing that my baby boy is getting stronger!!!

This post is jam-packed with lots of information but seriously, it has been a crazy busy and amazing week!!    BELLY SHOT UPDATE :)

Hope this post makes you just as excited as we are!! :)

20 weeks. And a little extra.

WOO-HOOO!!!

We have hit a major milestone!!
20 weeks!! (Halfway there!)

Today our baby is a Cantaloupe!

Growing like crazy and our mini bee does seem to be getting very active. I used to feel only movements at night but now have been feeling some all throughout the day with still the night being the most active.
The big development factor at 20 weeks is that the male/female gender parts are formed and identifiable! Good thing we have an ultrasound coming up :)

P.S. There was another big accomplishment. I made it all the way through the giant baby name book and we have a short list of names for both a boy and girl. I also started to clean out the baby's room :)

As for it all starting to seem more real....We watched the movie "Due Date" the other day. The most craziest coincidence was in the movie. Of course a lady is pregnant and due any day. Here is the scene from the movie that sums up the whole coincidence...

(Look at the name on the baby's tag. A little too close to reality...Weird huh?)

Check-Up.

We had a doctor appointment today and it went well. Not much happens at these doctor appointments really but I always get so excited to have the doctor check up on Mini Bee. It feels good to be reassured everything is going alright. However it seems like the four weeks between appointments takes forever! Our next doctor checkup appointment will be in another four weeks but before that we have a very important appointment first!!!

Our ultrasound is scheduled for some point this next week. Hesitant whether to say which day since I don't want my phone going off looking for hints/answers. We are planning on doing the card approach to finding out the gender as of now. This means having the tech write the gender in a card and having the inside of a cake dyed a certain color for Mitch and I to reveal at a special time when we can celebrate and share this special moment amongst ourselves. Hopefully I can hold myself together. All this baby stuff filled with endless wonderful possibilities tends to make me emotional. For this sake I have determined it would be better for me to find out a little more about our baby to help prepare for the delivery. I am worried I will be busting with so much excitement that another bit of excitement may be more than I can handle. I don't think I will change my mind on finding out but we will see. Finding out the gender though is of course is dependent on how cooperative Mini Bee is.

Mini Bee always takes a while to decide to cooperate at our checkups now. The doctor has a hard time keeping the heartbeat detected because baby didn't want to stay still. They kept hearing lots of movement and even the doctor said it sounds like we have a very active baby! Thinking that's pretty impressive since she has listened to lots of babies. Go Mini Bee! :)

Fancy Feast.

No this title is not to give you some killer recipe or tell of some big feast I cooked. I honestly do not like to cook but do sometimes only because I have to. Enough of that though. This post is simply to share a new commercial that I love.

The fancy feast cat. Anybody who loves furry cats has to love these commercials. When my sister and I were younger, we wanted a house cat BAD! We had lots of farm cats outside but those hardly compared to this big white, fluffy fancy feast cat! After a few years of begging conversations and multiple fancy feast magazine ad postings, we were able to get a big white persian cat like the one in the commercial and that sparked my love for fur.

A picture of my sister and I :)

Here is the kitty commercial: (better than any in the past bc its got a baby fancy feast kitty)

Here's two pictures of the cat my sister bought back in the day when we lived with my parents. See any resemblances?
