Lawn Gnome.

Ok so this kid has some of the cutest pictures but these may be my new favorites....

There is no way you can look at these pictures without giggling, right?
They are just my favorite.
I bought the boots and already had the pants and shirt on hand. I made his belt, beard and hat though :).

And to answer some questions we have already received...
No he isn't for sale. He can not be your yard ornament.
And...
No he is not sponsored by Travelocity.   :)

Gonna be hard to top this costume next year.

Happy Halloween!

Shoe Organizer.

So the past few weeks I have been struggling with trying to figure out a simpler solution to Jack's bath time. I have a square canvas tote filled with his towels, rags, body wash, etc. Every bath time we haul it to the kitchen for a bath and then rush to get it back in his room before bedtime.

I had considered a solution I found on pinterest to put a tension rod across the top of the cupboard and hang bottles from that. Instead I remembered what I had done in our last house. I had a hanging door shoe organizer not being used so I hung it over the door and put all my cleaning supplies into it.

That solution seemed like a better fit and provided our space under the kitchen sink to store Jack's bath stuff. p.s. The cleaning supplies in a basket under the sink was not working anyways. They were thrown crazy into a basket.

Here is the before and after pictures of the cleaners.

Jack the Trickster.

Whew! What a week.

It has been a team of one this week with Mitch sick. :( He hasn't been up and moving until a few days ago but still has sick symptoms so is trying to keep his distance from Jack. (Although his cute smiles make him pretty irresistible!)

I have somewhat avoided the full symptoms but have had a cold that continues to gain strength each day even with my consumption of very tart Airborne tablets.

Jack has taken to battling us at night time. It has been a bit of a rough streak. The second he is done with his bath he decides to scream and throw a fit. He gets his bottle which calms him down but then the second lights are out and he is left alone, he is furious!! The interesting part is that he mostly will fall asleep after screaming for a short while. Doable, right?

Well tonight... Not the story. He was screaming a shrill, shriek sound (feeling the spirit of Halloween, maybe? haha). We go into the room to discover what is causing this crazy scream and what do we find?

A baby who at first has a hard time opening his eyes with the light and then... A smile! A giant smile. We were so caught off guard and surprised by this "naughty" behavior at 3 months that all we could do is laugh. (I wanted to capture the smile with a camera but thought that may only provoke this behavior more...shucks)

Yep. We were had. Our 3 month old had totally suckered us.

After a few laughs and smiles, we shut the door to hear a scream again. We knew better this time and soon he fell asleep. Let's hope it lasts all night :)

Man, its hard being a parent.
Especially hard when I swear we've got the cutest little boy ever.
I'm not biased either :)
You be the judge...

So here's to a new week! Maybe 14 weeks old makes him a super good sleeper again :)

Healthy Kick.

So Mitch and I are trying to pick up more of a healthier lifestyle. During pregnancy, I wasn't exactly the healthiest eater. Don't get me wrong, I ate what I needed to be healthy but wasn't one to turn down any treat I was craving. Now that I am not pregnant, I am realizing the extra pounds don't wear as well. In our house, we are taking two big steps to change our choices.

Step 1: We joined the new Family Wellness center that opened a few days ago. It is an amazing facility with lots of workout options. (By the way I am really feeling that workout of mine I did last night)

Step 2: Menu Plan. Previously, we would end up eating unhealthy junk or going out to eat because I didn't have any idea what to make to eat or didn't have the supplies on hand. My solution to the problem was to come up with a menu for suppers so that I can plan ahead and have no excuses! My original idea was to plan by the month but only had a small frame on hand and so I decided to plan by the week. Realistically this is a better idea since last minute meetings and shoots come up, therefore having me reshuffle our menu a little. Plus, it's easier to pick up ingredients and be able to buy fresh ones if I am only planning for the week.

Here is the menu I made:

A close-up view:

All you need is:
A picture frame (I used a 12x12 one)
1 piece of Scrapbook Paper
A dri-erase marker

Tah-dah! Here's to good health :)
And no this is not my vow to never eat treats again--I'm realistic :)

Big boy Houdini.

It was a day of adventure for our little Jack.

Poor little guy busted out of his swaddle in the night to scratch his face (also dealing with some eczema lately which breaks my heart).
Anyways, here is the result of his houdini swaddle work. :( (notice the mittens now)

Poor little guy. Looks like he has road rash. I am finding out that even though he has no worries or hurt from those scratches, they make me hurt to see them.

The other adventure for Jack was going to daycare today. I had my first visit to the gym since pre-pregnancy. (Ouch! by the way) Little Jack wasn't quite sure what to think of his short visit at the gym but was glad to be back home with a bottle.

Candy Corn Pumpkin.

Once a month I meet with a great group of gals to do something fun and have a night off. I look forward to it all month because it's always a good time. I am making this post quick because I am headed to bed but wanted to share a quick picture of the project I completed.

I found the idea here and also on Pinterest (my new obsession!)

Here are the pictures :)

A painted candy corn pumpkin. So cute and easy!

Fargo Force.

Those of you that know us, know that Fargo Force hockey is a big part of our Fall/Winter life. Last season I was pregnant pretty much the whole season so I was curious how this season would go with Jack being born.

I know that he was a lot more portable in my tummy rather than with all the gear he needs now! However he does like meeting all the ladies that flock over him and really knows how to put on a show. We may have a heartbreaker on our hands! :)

Little Jack was a trooper last night and tonight though! He was a little leery at first of all the noises and people but then realized the game is like a big tv! Lots to look at. Right up his alley! I am so proud of him liking the games though because that means mommy can keep going to the games :)

Here are some pictures of his first games...

Helping daddy take pictures...

And when he is tired of it all and needs a snooze...

P.S.
One extra picture from today just in case you miss seeing his smile...

3 Months!

Today our little Jack is 3 months old! The days, I feel, are at least slowing down a little bit from those first two months we were getting accustomed to Jack. He; however, is not slowing down at all. Everyday he is learning new things and taking in everything around him. He is always so happy too! Today he actually giggled a few times. Talk about making my heart melt!

Here are his latest new tricks!

And...

Quite the ham!
Love you Jack :)

Ok. I have been debating whether to post this youtube video or not. But honestly it makes me laugh hysterically everytime! Hoping I can bring someone a good laugh because then its worth it. Everyone needs at least one good laugh a day :)

p.s. The scary mask guy is trying to re-do a scene from the movie "Saw" --Enjoy!

Love Notes.

Jack and I headed out of town last week to spend the week at my parents farm. We enjoyed spending time with my parents, going to the apple orchard, and taking in the farming/fall season.

Sorry, no pictures really. Jack was either in the carseat or hanging out. It was pretty windy and dusty while we were there so he spent a lot of his outside time covered up. Not many photo opportunities...

Before we headed out, I had completed a small project that I hadn't had a chance to post yet. I found this idea from a blog and thought I could create it for our house.

Original Idea found on this blog

So here is the project...

Love Notes for your Significant Other:

The frames hang in our bedroom so that everyday we can take a minute to think of one more reason why we love eachother. Sappy, I know but it's always good to remember specific reasons why you love the other person. It also makes you feel good to be reminded of your special qualities. Aww, Warm fuzzies. :)
I encourage you to leave a special note for that special someone today to remind them why they are special to you. I bet it will make you both smile :)
